Born in Colombia, raised in New York, Carlos Ruiz first tried his hand at photography after an encouraging middle school art teacher presented him with his first camera.

After attending Howard Wallach’s photography program at Lincoln High School in Coney Island, and later graduating from New York’s School of Visual Arts.

Setting up his studio in 2013, Carlos’ work is looking at all forms of art - painting, sculpture, film and dance - as a source of inspiration.
