Born in Colombia, raised in New York City, Carlos Ruiz first tried his hand at photography after an encouraging art teacher presented him with his first camera.

After attending Howard Wallach’s photography program at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, and later graduating from New York’s School of Visual Arts.

Setting up his studio in 2013, Carlos’ work is looking at forms of art - painting, sculpture, film and dance as a source of inspiration.
